Which Kit
is right for me?
Restaurant / Industrial Kit:
Do you
have a plan in case one of your
employees gets sick or hurt on
the job` You should. There are
many ways to help keep your
employees healthy and safe while
working. Healthcare benefits and
rules of conduct are important.
And so is having a commercial
first aid kit.
The size
of your Industrial first aid kit
depends on your specific needs.
Generally, first aid kits come
in following size options
ranging from 1-10 person all the
way up to 100 person and up.
A smaller
commercial first aid kit is
great for places such as a home
office. It contains the basics;
painkillers, ointments,
bandages, gauze pads, etc. A
10-20 person commercial first
aid kit is more suited for areas
such as small offices, daycare
facilities or restaurants. For
larger businesses, warehouses,
airports, schools, and the like,
a larger first aid kit may prove
to be the best option.
You can
find commercial first aid kits
in three styles: soft case, hard
case and wall-mounted. The soft
case is easy to transport and
store. The hard case handles
abuse a lot better and is good
for commercial contractors,
construction sites or
warehouses. And the wall-mounted
commercial first aid kit is
perfect for a central location
such as in a manufacturing
facility or other work
environment.
No matter
what size or style commercial
first aid kit you choose, make
sure it meets or exceeds federal
OSHA requirements for first aid
in the workplace. And remember,
no first aid kit is meant to be
a substitute for seeking
professional medical care.
Whether
you're a coach or an avid
parental fan, you never know
when an injury might occur while
playing sports. It's just part
of the game. And having a sports
first aid kit on hand is a smart
call.
The sports
first aid kit is specially
configured for sports injuries.
Even the most basic kits contain
adhesive strips, bandages
(including fingertip and
knuckle), gauze pads, antiseptic
towelettes and other materials
for treating sprains, strains
and minor skin injuries.
Like most
first aid kits, the sports first
aid kit comes in a variety of
sizes, including 1-10 person all
the way up to 100 person and up.
Obviously, the smaller kits are
great for individual and
small-team sports such as rock
climbing, tennis, racquetball,
gymnastics, motorbike racing,
etc., and you can easily store a
soft-cased one in a gym bag.
The sports
kits for 20-100 people are ideal
for coaches and referees to keep
on hand at baseball, football
and hockey games or for locker
rooms and school sports
programs. Some are available as
a fanny pack to wear on the
field, whereas a hard-cased
sports kit would be more durable
& a real plus in more physical
contact sports, like for on the
sidelines of a football game.
You can also get a wall-mounted
sports first aid kit; perfect
for the locker room or
gymnasium.
A sports
first aid kit is great for
parents with active children as
well as for coaches. Anyone who
participates in any type of
sport or outdoor activities
should carry this type of first
aid kit. And remember, no first
aid kit is meant to be a
substitute for seeking
professional medical care.
Camping First Aid Kit:
Camping is a time
for fun with family
and friends. It's a
time to commune with
nature, take in the
fresh air and enjoy
some time away from
life's intense pace.
And a camping first
aid kit should be an
essential part of
your camping gear.
The camping first
aid kit can be as
basic or
comprehensive as you
need. It comes in
all sizes, styles
and price ranges.
It's a handy thing
to have for any
outdoor enthusiast.
And you never know
when it will help
save a life.
Whether you're a
scout troop leader
or just going
camping with
friends, it's
important to think
about how long
you'll be out in the
wilderness and how
much room you'll
have. Typically,
camping first aid
kits range in size
from 1-10 person to
100 person and up.
The smaller first
aid kit is all most
people ever need. It
fits easily in your
car, truck, motor
home, boat, backpack
or cabin. It
contains all the
basics; painkillers,
ointments, bandages
(including finger,
knuckle and
butterfly), gauze
pads, tweezers, a
first aid guide,
etc. Medium-sized
ones would be great
for family reunions
or float trips. And
larger kits might be
ideal in
campgrounds, ski
resorts, or for park
rangers and trail
guides.
Generally, you can
buy a camping first
aid kit in one of
three styles. The
soft case first aid
kit is typically
smaller. It works
well in a purse,
under a car seat, in
a glove box or
backpack. You might
want a hard case
first aid kit for
rougher environments
like a car trunk, a
boat or cabin. And
the wall-mounted
first aid kit is
perfect for a
central location in
a resort, campground
or park.
When you're ready to
hit the trails,
don't forget your
camping first aid
kit. You never know
what nature has in
store. And it's best
to be prepared.
When you're on the
road, you don't need
to be slowed down
for a medical
emergency. Travel is
so much more fun
when everyone is
healthy and safe.
And you can make
sure they are by
relieving everything
from a headache to
minor cut or scrape
with a travel/auto
first aid kit.
The travel/auto
first aid kit is
recommended by
health care
professionals, and
can be as compact or
comprehensive as you
need it. In fact,
most travel/auto
first aid kits are
the perfect size for
your luggage, glove
compartment, purse,
briefcase or
backpack. Some can
even attach to your
visor.
There are many
options when
choosing the size of
your travel/auto
first aid kit. A
1-10 person
travel/auto first
aid kit is all most
people will need. It
contains all the
basics; painkillers,
motion sickness
pills, ointments,
bandages (including
elbow, knee, knuckle
and butterfly),
gauze pads,
tweezers, a first
aid guide, etc. A
10-20 person
travel/auto first
aid kit would be
great for truckers,
highway-patrol
officers and
tow-truck operators.
But travel centers,
truck stops and gas
stations might find
the larger kits to
be more appropriate.
A
good travel/auto
first aid kit
contains all the
basics plus a
booster cable, light
sticks, flashlight,
screwdrivers,
pliers, tire
inflator and help
banner. The soft
case travel/auto
first aid kit is
typically smaller.
It works well in a
purse, under a car
seat, in a glove box
or backpack. You
might want a
hard-case first aid
kit for rougher
environments like a
car trunk, a truck
or a motor home. And
the wall-mounted
first aid kit is
perfect for a
central location
such as in a gas
station or truck
stop.
So, hit the road.
But be sure you pack
your travel/auto
first aid kit. And
as always, no first
aid kit is meant to
be a substitute for
seeking professional
medical care.
First responder kit:
The first responder
kit was there when
Mt. St. Helen's
erupted. It was
there when the
tsunamis ravaged
Southeast Asia. It
was there on 9/11,
and it will be there
whenever brave men
and women risk their
own lives to save
the lives of others.
A
first responder kit
allows these first
responders such as
EMS, EMT, search and
rescue personnel,
firemen and law
enforcement officers
to quickly
administer first aid
at the injury site
in a timely manner.
When faced with a
medical emergency,
the last thing you
want to worry about
is whether or not
you have the
essential first-aid
components you need
to provide immediate
treatment.
Unlike other first
aid kits, these
advanced first
responder kits are
designed for those
professionals who
are called upon to
provide medical care
as a part of their
work. Most first
responder kits will
contain a complete
array of carefully
chosen medical
supplies including
CPR devices, wound
dressings, bandages,
tapes, biohazard
bags, gloves and
more.
First responder kits
are available in a
variety of style
choices, including
soft case and hard
case. While you
generally won't find
a wall-mounted first
responder kit, there
are some designed to
be mounted in an
ambulance or other
emergency vehicle.
Soft-case kits are
often designed as
fanny packs for easy
carrying (especially
handy for river
guides, hunting and
expedition guides,
trip leaders,
outdoor instructors
and other wilderness
uses) and can hold
enough supplies for
up to 20 people,
depending on the
severity of the
trauma. Larger,
hard-case kits come
in many sizes as
well, often with
handles and shoulder
straps, and are
ideal for situations
involving 50-100
persons or more.
No matter what size
or style first
responder kit you
choose, it is a must
for every search and
rescue team, highway
patrol vehicle,
doctor, nurse, EMT,
military personnel
or other potential
first responder.
Because the last
thing you want is to
be unprepared.
All-purpose first
aid kit:
Everyone
needs a
first
aid kit.
The
all-purpose
first
aid kit
can be
as
varied
as the
ailments
it's
designed
to
treat.
It comes
in all
sizes,
styles
and
price
ranges.
It's a
handy
thing to
have for
any home
or
business.
And you
never
know
when it
will
help
save a
life.
When
choosing
the size
of your
all-purpose
first
aid kit,
it's
important
to think
about
how it
might be
used.
Typically,
first
aid kits
come in
the
following
size
categories:
1-10
person,
10-20
person,
20-50
person,
50-100
person,
and 100
person
and up.
A 1-10
person
first
aid kit
is
generally
all
you'll
need for
your
home,
car,
camping
gear,
motor
home or
boat. It
contains
just a
few of
the
basics;
painkillers,
ointments,
bandages,
gauze
pads,
etc. A
10-20
person
first
aid kit
is great
for
small
offices,
daycare
facilities
or
restaurants.
For
larger
businesses,
warehouses,
airports,
schools,
and the
like, a
20-50
person
first
aid kit,
50-100
person
first
aid kit
or 100
person
and up
first
aid kit
might be
the most
appropriate.
Generally
you can
find an
all-purpose
first
aid kit
in your
choice
of one
of three
styles:
soft
case,
hard
case and
wall-mounted.
The soft
case
first
aid kit
is
typically
smaller.
It works
well in
a purse,
under a
car
seat, in
a glove
box,
suitcase
or
backpack.
You
might
want a
hard
case
first
aid kit
for
rougher
environments
like a
garage,
car
trunk or
boat.
And the
wall-mounted
first
aid kit
is
perfect
for a
central
location
in a
warehouse
or other
work
environment.
The
price of
your
all-purpose
first
aid kit
will
most
likely
be
determined
by its
size and
style.
Prices
tend to
fall
into the
following
ranges:
under
$25,
$25-$50,
$50-$100,
$100 and
up. A
first
aid kit
for
under
$25 is
fine for
home
use.
Those in
the
$25-$50
price
range
are
typically
organized
for
quick,
easy
access.
Kits in
the
$50-$100
and $100
and up
ranges
tend to
include
more
specialized
and
advanced
products
like
instant
cold
compresses,
sting-free
antiseptic
wipes,
trauma
pads,
burn
relief
and
sterile
eye
pads.
No
matter
what
size or
style
all-purpose
first
aid kit
you
choose,
make
sure it
contains
easy-to-follow
instructions.
And
remember,
no first
aid kit
is meant
to be a
substitute
for
seeking
professional
medical
care.

What is OSHA?
The mission of the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration (OSHA) is to save lives,
prevent injuries and protect the health of
America's workers. To accomplish this, federal
and state governments must work in partnership
with the more than 100 million working men and
women and their six and a half million employers
who are covered by the Occupational Safety and
Health Act of 1970.
OSHA and its state partners have approximately
2100 inspectors, plus complaint discrimination
investigators, engineers, physicians, educators,
standards writers, and other technical and
support personnel spread over more than 200
offices throughout the country. This staff
establishes protective standards, enforces those
standards, and reaches out to employers and
employees through technical assistance and
consultation programs.
